China implements several major projects in Turkmenistan

One of the oldest foreign partners of Turkmenistan in the oil and gas sphere is China Petroleum Engineering Co. Ltd. (CPE) - structural unit of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Wednesday.

One of the oldest foreign partners of Turkmenistan in the oil and gas sphere is China Petroleum Engineering Co. Ltd. (CPE) - structural unit of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Wednesday.

CEO of CPE branch in Turkmenistan Du Tunlin in an interview with the newspaper spoke about main directions of cooperation. He said the presence of a strong raw material base of hydrocarbon resources will enable Turkmenistan to maintain the current level of oil and gas production and intense diversification of extraction of hydrocarbons from subsoil, developing new fields and oil and gas pools.

This company is one of the largest and main planning and prospecting and research organizations in development of oil and gas territories in China. The range of activities covers the engineering survey, planning, general contracting, consultation, research, as well as technology development.

The company has been operating in Turkmenistan since 2007, carrying out survey and projecting work on a contractual territory "Bagtiyarlyk" (Lebap region). A gas processing plant was successfully commissioned in 2009 with its participation.

In addition, the company's specialists were involved in the implementation of
Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline project. The company is currently engaged in design work on the ground development of the country's largest field "Galkynysh" (Mary region).
The Turkmengaz state concern deals with the first stage of industrial development of Galkynysh field. It signed service contracts worth $9.7 billion in total with Gulf Oil & Gas Fze, Petrofac International LLC (UAE), NPC Chuanging Drilling Engineering Company (PRC) and Consortium of LG Internatinal Cоrp and Hyudai Engineering (South Korea) in December 2009.
