In the first half the Turkish Petkim petrochemical complex, in which the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has an equity interest, exported products worth $567 million, or 33 percent more compared to the same period last year, Petkim said on Friday.
According to the report, Petkim exported products worth $427 million in the first half of 2011.
"Petkim is moving towards the target set for 2012 on the volume of imports amounting to $1 billion," the report says.
Accordingly, during the reporting period, the total share of exports in Petkim's total turnover amounted to 43 percent.
Previously on March 30, SOCAR Turkey Enerji A.S and SOCAR International DMCC OGG acquired a 10.32 per cent stake in Petkim, increasing the stake up to 61.32 per cent. Some 38.67 percent are in free circulation at the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
Petkim Petrokimya Holding manufactures plastic packages, fabric, PVC, detergents, being the only Turkish producer of such products, a quarter of which the company exports.
