Oil imports into Turkey increase by almost 40 percent

Oil imports to Turkey have increased by 37.8 percent to 1.8 million tons in June 2012, its Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) said in a report.

Oil imports into Turkey have increased by 37.8 percent to 1.8 million tons in June 2012, its Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) said in a report.

Imports of diesel fuel in June rose by 11.3 percent and amounted to 917,800 tons.

Gasoline consumption rose by 11.7 percent in June and amounted to 175,300 tons compared to the previous month.

Consumption of diesel fuel in June rose by 4.8 percent to 1.4 million tons.

Production of gasoline and diesel fuel in June increased by 8.6 percent to 1.7 million tons compared to the previous month. Production of oil products grew by 16.9 percent to 1.9 million tons during the reporting period.

Oil exports in June decreased by 2.2 percent and amounted to 234,700 tons.
