Turkey decreases oil imports from Iran

In June, Turkey reduced its oil imports from Iran by 23.2 percent compared to the same period in 2011, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority's website reported on Wednesday.

In June, Turkey imported 683,500 tons of oil from Iran compared to 889,600 tons in June last year.

Nevertheless, most of the oil imported by Turkey still accounted for Iranian oil. Oil from Saudi Arabia ranked second, its volume hit 399,000 tons. In June 2011, the figure hit 290,000 tons.

During the reporting period, most of the diesel fuel was imported from India - 254,000 tons. Most of aviation fuel imports in June accounted for Kuwait. This country supplied 40,000 tons of aviation fuel to Turkey.
