In January-August, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced over 5.49 million tons on the country's offshore and onshore fields compared to 5.63 million tons in January-August last year, SOCAR said on Friday.
According to the report, SOCAR produced 701,800 tons of oil in August compared to 713,800 tons in August 2011.
According to SOCAR, a total of 29.29 million tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan in January-August 2012 compared to 31.77 million tons in January-August 2011. In particular in August 2012, the figure was over 3.57 million tons compared to 4.05 million tons in August 2011.
More than 45.6 million tons was produced in the country last year compared to 50.8 million tons in 2010. About 8.4 million tons of the total oil volume produced last year fell to SOCAR, compared to 8.46 million tons in 2010.
