In January-August, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced about 4.57 billion cubic meters of gas compared to 4.73 billion cubic meters in January-August 2011, SOCAR said on Friday.
According to the report, in August SOCAR produced 572.3 million cubic meters of gas compared to 595.1 million cubic meters in August 2011.
According to SOCAR, in January-August, the country produced about 17.46 billion cubic meters compared to 17.27 billion cubic meters in January-August 2011. In August 2012, the figure hit 1.93 billion cubic meters compared to 2.11 billion cubic meters in August 2011.
Last year, Azerbaijan produced approximately 26 billion cubic meters of gas. Some 7.08 billion cubic meters of this gas fell to SOCAR.
