Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept 11 /Trend E.Ismayilov/
Since the beginning of gas pumping season, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) pumped about 1.59 billion cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan, a source at the company SOCAR told Trend on Tuesday.
There are two underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan - Kalmaz and Garadagh.
The source noted that around 966.8 million cubic meters from the total volume of injected gas fall on Garadagh, and 628.32 million cubic meters on Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.
Currently the volume of gas remaining in the underground facilities in Azerbaijan amounted to 2.74 billion cubic meters. About 1.36 billion cubic meters from the total amount of remaining gas fall to Garadagh and 1.22 billion cubic meters to Kalmaz.
Currently, daily volume of gas injection into underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan is more than 9.45 million cubic meters.
As source in SOCAR told Trend previously the volume of gas remaining in the underground facilities in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.18 billion cubic meters after the season of selection.
Around 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped at the end of injection season compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters last year.
Some 1.92 billion cubic meters of gas have been selected from the underground gas storage facilities last season of selection compared to over two billion this year, due to severe weather conditions, which were observed throughout the country during the winter.
