Turkmen Administration has signed contract with Turkish company Çalik Enerji, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Wednesday.

"A major project in Turkmen history on energy infrastructure development has been approved, which is determined to modernize the energy supply system of the capital and the whole country as a perspective", the report says.

Construction of 16 station complexes with capacity of 110 kW, 11station complexes with 35 kW capacity, 97 station complexes with 10 kW capacity, projecting and construction of 31000 meters long grid power station with capacity of 100 kW, 15900 meters long cable energy transmission system with 110 kW capacity , 8000 meter cable energy transmission system with 35 kW capacity, 100000 meters long cable energy transmission system with 10 kW capacity is planned according to the project.

The construction works are expected to start in September of 2012. The project will be commissioned in December of 2015.

Project contractors who are going to supply equipment and carry out commissioning are Schneider Siemens, General Electric, ABB and some others.

The project will be implemented in 3 stages. All the 60 substations will be connected to the same grid.

The electric energy production level is expected to reach 35.5 billion kW/hour by 2030 according to the development strategy.
