Fuel production increases in Turkey

Production of petrol and diesel fuel in Turkey in July rose by 2.2 percent and hit 1.1 million tons compared to the previous month, the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority said today.

Production of petrol and diesel fuel in Turkey in July rose by 2.2 percent and hit 1.1 million tons compared to the previous month, the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority said today.

Production of oil products for the period increased by 3.2 percent to 1.9 million tons.

Production of oil products increased by 0.8 percent and hit 12.2 million tons from January to July compared to the same period in 2011.

Petrol consumption in Turkey in July increased by 8.2 percent and hit 189,800 tons compared to the previous month. Diesel fuel consumption in July rose by 3.7 percent to 1.5 million tons.

Petrol consumption dropped by 6.9 per cent to one million tons in January-July 2012. Diesel fuel consumption for the period grew by 7.1 per cent to 8.8 million tons.

The average price on petrol in Turkey in July increased by 0.5 percent and hit 4.27 lira per liter compared to the previous month. The price on diesel fuel increased by 1.4 percent to 3.74 lira per liter.

The official exchange rate is 1.7888 TRY/USD on Sept. 18.
