Fuel consumption in Turkey increases in first half-year

Diesel fuel consumption in Turkey in the first half of 2012 increased by 9.1 percent compared to the same period of last year, amounting to 8.8 million cubic meters, the Oil Industry Association of Turkey said in its report on its website on Monday.

Diesel fuel consumption in Turkey in the first half of 2012 increased by 9.1 percent compared to the same period of last year, amounting to 8.8 million cubic meters, the Oil Industry Association of Turkey said in its report on its website on Monday.

Gasoline consumption during the reporting period decreased by 5.9 percent compared to January-June 2011, amounting to 1.2 million cubic meters.

Total consumption of automobile fuel in the first half-year increased by six percent and amounted to 12.1 million cubic meters.

Consumption of engine oil in January-June 2012 increased by 1.5 percent and amounted to 113,000 tons compared to the same period of 2011.

During this period, 89,000 tons of industrial oils were used, which is 0.8 percent more than in the first half of 2011.
