Azerbaijan has capacity to export electricity to Europe, Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Abbasov said at the International Conference "Construction of Bridges" in Baku on Thursday.
"Today Azerbaijan fully meets its energy needs and is ready to export it. We have a project to export electricity to Turkey through Georgia and we are interested in expanding it to Europe," Abbasov said.
He said today export potential of Azerbaijan is 8-10 billion kW/h of electricity.
"We continue to increase capacity, a number of projects are implemented in the country - the construction of the second station "Shimal", station "Janub" and other projects," Abbasov said.
