Kazakhstan decreases oil production

Oil and gas condensate production in Kazakhstan amounted to about 5.93 million tons in August 2012, or 5.54 million tons fell to oil, and 385,700 tons - gas condensate, the Kazakh Statistics Agency said today.

The total volume of oil and gas condensate in Kazakhstan amounted 52.36 million tons in January-August this year.

Oil and condensate production decreased by 11.7 percent compared to the same period of 2011. During this period there was a decline in oil production by 12.6 percent, while gas condensate increased by one percent.

Oil and gas condensate production decreased by 12.5 percent compared to the previous month.

Average daily production of oil and gas condensate in August 2012 amounted to 191,100 tons, including oil - 178,700 tons and gas condensate - 12,400 tons.

As of August 1, the exploitation fund of the oil and gas companies' wells totaled 19,117 units, including the current fund of wells - 16,978 units. In August, the number of new wells was 141 units.
