Kazakhstan, Astana, Oct. 4 / Trend D. Mukhtarov /
A national energy report will be presented in Kazakhstan in early 2013, KazEnergy Association chairman Timur Kulibayev said at a press conference in Astana today.
"The association intends to present the national energy report to the government in early 2013," he said. "It will include data on the energy balance sheet of the country."
He said this document is very important for the future development of the oil, gas and energy industries.
"Kazakh society must know for example, the optimal level of the country's oil production given the environmental load or the required coal volume to cover domestic needs and not to harm the environment or what is more beneficial in the current terms: gas or alternative energy sources."
Kulibayev said that experts, researchers and statisticians must answer these questions in a further national energy report.
As an example, head of the association cited Germany. Alternative energy sources are actively used in Germany due to high cost of 'blue fuel'.
"Kazakhstan has other situations insomuch our gas is four times cheaper than in Europe," he said. "Using alternative sources costs us more. That is, the energy balance in each country is different. The estimates, opinions and conclusions of experts are required. Our task is to raise the issue, while the government must make a decision."
He said that KazEnergy plans to be based on existing global data.
"Trans-national companies included in our association, have been analysing the market for a long time," he said. "As for Kazakhstan, the development of the industry in the future may be discussed by reading this report."
He said that a national energy report will be made annually.
