Kazakh Atyrau refinery temporarily suspended gasoline production, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to regional newspaper Ak Zhaiyk.

"Atyrau refinery suspended gasoline production from Oct. 6 to Oct.25," deputy chief engineer of the refinery Rustem Bisaliyev told the newspaper.

Gasoline production was suspended following an accident which took place at refinery's catalytic reforming unit on Oct. 6.

Currently, the catalytic reforming unit is under repair.

According to Bisaliyev, repair works will be quite complicated.

Currently Kazakhstan has three oil refineries: Shymkent refinery, Atyrau refinery and Pavlodar petrochemical plant. However, scheduled repair works will be conducted at Kazakh Shymkent refinery until Nov. 5.
