Kazakhstan’s Atyrau refinery has increased oil processing to 4.8 million tons in January-December 2012 compared to 396,900 tons processed in the same period of 2011

Kazakhstan's Atyrau refinery has increased oil processing to 4.8 million tons in January-December 2012 compared to 396,900 tons processed in the same period of 2011, the refinery reported on Friday.

The oil processing target for the reporting period was fulfilled by 100.5 percent.

Light crude oil supplies to the refinery decreased to 301,300 tons in this period. The missing oil volumes were replaced by Mangyshlak field's oil, resulting in decrease in light oil products production.

In 2012 the Atyrau refinery produced 506, 400 tons of motor gasoline, 1.217 million tones of diesel fuel, 54, 200 tons of TS-1 fuel, 149,300 tons of fuel oil, 1.595 million tons of black oil, 602,500 tons of vacuum gas oil, 74,700 tons of coke, 14,300 tons of liquefied gas and 1,200 tons of technical sulfur.

In the reporting period the refinery decreased motor gasoline, diesel fuel and LPG production. Ecologically clean diesel fuel accounted for 64.5 percent of total production ( compared to 61 percent and 48 percent in 2011 and 2010 respectively).The amount of losses reduced by 17,569 tons, hitting 6.5 percent.
