The share of Chinese investors is not more than 11% in KazMunaiGas (KMG EP), KMG EP PR department said today.

"The total proportion of KMG EP minority investors whose shares are in free circulation is only 31%", the message said. "The China Investments Corporation's share was no more than 11% according to 2009 data."

Last week, several online resources cited an anonymous source saying that Chinese companies may exceed 40% of the oil industry in 2013.

The same source said that Chinese investors now hold 30% of KazMunaiGas Exploration and Development's shares. When the company buys shares of three more companies - Kazakhoil Aktobe, Kazakh Turk Munai Turk and Mangistau Investments BV, Chinese shareholders will be more influential.

According to the source, China's share in the Kazakh oil industry will exceed Kazakhstan's.

According to PR Department, KazMunaiGas's majority shareholder's share remained unchanged at 57.9%.

"The rest of the minority shareholders were divided between Kazakhstan and foreign shareholders", the company said. "According to obligations imposed by the Kazakh and London stock exchanges, one can get precise information on KMG EP's shares belonging to a Chinese fund directly from the investor by making a request."
