SOCAR invests nearly $ 150 million in Georgia over the course of 7 years

SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, a subsidiary of SOCAR Energy Georgia which represent SOCAR in Georgia and sells its petroleum products, invested $149.7 million in Georgia between 2006 and 2012, a SOCAR statement said on Friday.

SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, a subsidiary of SOCAR Energy Georgia which represent SOCAR in Georgia and sells its petroleum products, invested $149.7 million in Georgia between 2006 and 2012, a SOCAR statement said on Friday.

According to the statement, in 2012 the company opened eight gas stations in Georgia. Thus, the total number of stations operating in Georgia under the brand of SOCAR reached 100.

Last year SOCAR's subsidiaries in Georgia paid nearly $165.35 million to the state budget.

Apart from selling oil products, SOCAR also distributes natural gas in Georgia. SOCAR's oil terminal in Kulevi also operates in Georgia.
