The Azneft Production Association of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has produced more than 580.600 tons of oil in January 2013, which exceeds the target amount by 1.2 per cent, the company's statement said on Wednesday.
According to the statement, about 483.600 cubic meters of gas were produced in January, which is 1.3 per cent more than the planned figure.
SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (companies that produce oil and gas on land and sea) and the Azerkimya Production Association (chemical industry), production association Azerigas (gas distribution).
The State Oil Company is the only producer of oil products in the country (it has two refineries on its balance sheet) and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Romania. SOCAR possesses a network of petrol stations in Switzerland and is the co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim.
