Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline capital expenditure to total nearly $100 million

During 2012, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline cost over $64 million in capital expenditure, a BP report on the 2012 results says. The 2013 plan for BTC capital expenditures is about $97 million.

During 2012, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline cost over $64 million in capital expenditure, a BP report on the 2012 results says. The 2013 plan for BTC capital expenditures is about $97 million.

According to the report, since June 4, 2006, up to the end of last year, 2061 tankers were loaded at Ceyhan with a total of 213 million tons of crude oil transported via BTC and sent to the world markets.

During 2012, BTC exported 32.8 million tons of crude oil loaded on to 320 tankers at Ceyhan.
The BТС's total length is 1768 kilometres including a 443 kilometre section running via Azerbaijan, a 249 kilometre section traversing Georgia and a 1076 kilometre section passing through Turkey. The pipeline's construction began on April 2003 with the first oil flow on May 18, 2005.

BTC Co. shareholders include: BP (30.1 per cent); AzBTC (25 per cent); Chevron (8.90 per cent); Statoil (8.71 per cent); ТРАО (6.53 per cent); Eni (5 per cent); Total (5 per cent); Itochu (3.40 per cent); Inpex (2.50 per cent) and ConocoPhillips (2.50 per cent). Hess (2.36 per cent) sold its share to Indian ONGC and the deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2013.
