Kazakhstan ups oil and gas production

In January-March 2013 production of coal, crude oil, natural gas and ore of non-ferrous metals increased in Kazakhstan compared to the same period in 2012, Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan said on Thursday.

In January-March 2013 production of coal, crude oil, natural gas and ore of non-ferrous metals increased in Kazakhstan compared to the same period in 2012, Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan said on Thursday.

According to the agency, the production of oil and gas condensate in January-March of this year increased by 2.5 per cent to 20.6 million tons compared to the same period last year.

Production of natural gas increased by 5.2 percent and amounted to 10.9 billion cubic meters, gasoline production decreased by 18.2 per cent and amounted to 0.6 million tons, power generation decreased by 2.2 percent - to 25.3 billion kilowatt-hours.

"The production of food, drinks, products of light industry, machinery and building materials also increased. Production growth was observed in 12 regions of the country. A decline was recorded in Akmola, Karaganda, Kyzylorda and Pavlodar regions," the report says.
