Turkey increases oil import by 12 percent per month

Oil imports to Turkey increased by 12 percent reaching 1.37 million tons in February 2013 compared to the previous month, the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority said today.

According to the report, oil imports decreased by 3.6 percent reaching 2.6 million tons in January-February 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.

Imports of diesel fuel in February rose by 8.2 percent to 621,000 tons.
It was imported by 6.1 percent more by reaching 1.1 million tons within two months compared to the same period of 2012.

Exports of petrol from Turkey fell by 0.4 percent to 206,000 tons in February, while exports of aviation fuel - by 5 percent up to 144,000 tons. Exports of shipping fuel from Turkey increased by 19 percent up to 125,000 tons.

Exports of petrol rose by 2 percent and amounted to 413,000 tons from January to February 2013 compared to the same period in 2012. Exports of aviation fuel for the period decreased by 2 percent to 297,000 tons, shipping fuel - by 49 percent up to 230,000 tons.
