Kazakh Parliament has ratified the protocol on amendments and supplements to the agreement between Kazakhstan and China on cooperation in the construction and operation of the Kazakhstan - China gas pipeline from August 18, 2007, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.

The supplements envisage increasing capacity of the first section of the Kazakhstan-China pipeline through the construction of the third line "C" which will operate in the same corridor with "A" and "B" lines. The construction of "C" line will be funded through Chinese investment without any funds from the Kazakh budget.

Turkmen and Uzbek gas may be pumped through "C" line of the first section of the gas pipeline to southern regions of Kazakhstan, where it will be used for domestic consumption.
