Second gas leak prompts shutdown of Kashagan field

A gas leak was observed again at the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan on October 9, resulting in all production processes being suspended, an informed source told Trend.
On September 24, 2013, a small gas leak was observed during a planned inspection of the pipeline running from Island D to the Bolashak plant.
On October 6 after the completion of repair work, the wells were reopened and production resumed without any difficulty at the Kashagan field, Kazakhstan's Oil and Gas Ministry said.
