Several industrial units in Kyrgyzstan started using coal instead of natural gas due to high prices for the fuel, Kyrgyzgas company's director Turgunbek Kulmurzayev said on Thursday.
A cement plant in the city of Kant is among these industrial units.
It is expected that Bishkek thermal power plant will stop using gas from January 1.
Kyrgyzstan imports gas from Kazakhstan and Russia.
