Georgian Ministry of Education and Science and SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) signed an agreement on cooperation on Saturday.
The agreement was signed by the Georgian Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze and SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev.
As Abdullayev said to the journalists after the signing ceremony, the company is interested in training its specialists in Georgia, where its activities are expanding.
"We consider that this agreement will work for both the company and the Georgia's development," he stressed.
Sanikidze noted that according to the agreement, SOCAR will define its priority sectors and will provide scholarships to 30 specialists, who afterwards will do a long-term internship in the company's objects in Georgia. 300 lari will be allocated monthly for each specialist ($1= 1,66 lari).
