According to the prognosis, around 6.13 million tons of oil products will be produced in Azerbaijan in 2014 compared to the expected 5.87 million tons this year, draft state budget of Azerbaijan for 2014 submitted to the consideration of the country's parliament said.
Over 5.62 million tons of oil products were produced in 2012 compared to 5.76 million tons in 2011.
According to the draft budget, the volume of the oil products production in 2015, 2016 and 2017 will amount to 6.24 million tons, 6.19 million tons and 6.15 million tons respectively.
The major part of the produced oil products in Azerbaijan fell to motor gasoline and diesel fuel. It is expected that around 1.49 million tons of gasoline will be produced in the country in 2014 compared to nearly 1.36 million tons of gasoline in 2013. The production of diesel fuel next year is expected to stand at 2.04 million tons compared to the expected 2.2 million tons this year.
Oil products in Azerbaijan are produced at two oil refineries of Baku with total capacity of 16 million tons per year. Both of the refineries are part of the Azerbaijani State Oil Fund which annually processes nearly seven million tons of oil produced from the offshore and onshore fields through its own funds.
