Iran’s super gasoline consumption hits all time record

Some 4.5 million litres of super gas was consumed in Iran on October 12 which is a new record for super gasoline consumption in the country.

Iran's average super gasoline consumption in the week to October 18 stood at around 3.429 million litres, the Tasnim News Agency reported.

The country's total gasoline consumption in the same week was around 488.1 million litres, which is 3.5 per cent more than the preceding week.
Iran's average gasoline consumption stood at 69.9 million litres per day in the week to October 18 and on October 17 with 77.8 million litres and October 18 with 60.5 million litres respectively recorded as the highest and lowest rate of gasoline consumption in mentioned week.

Over 6.534 billion litres of gasoline was consumed in Iran during the summer.
This figure is 500 million litres more than the same period in the previous year, the IRNA News Agency reported.

Iran's average gasoline consumption stood at 68.5 and 68.2 million litres per day in the first and second months of summer, respectively. The figure reached 74 million litres in the third month of summer.

Iran's average gasoline consumption stood at around 71.6 million litres per day in the previous Iranian calendar year, the ISNA News Agency reported.

According to Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeyqami, the country's average gasoline consumption stands at around 63.5 million litres per day.
Zeyqami went on to note that Iran's production capacity currently stands at 61 million tons per day.

Currently 22 million litres of gasoline conforming to Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards is being produced in the country, he said.

Zeyqami expressed the hope that Tehran's total gasoline production capacity would reach 70 million litres per day by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2014).
