Iran's Persian Gulf Holding plans to increase its petrochemicals production to 18.9 million tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2014).
The Holding has the capacity to produce 21.9 million tons of petrochemicals each year, the IRNA News Agency reported.
Based on a reported released by SHANA News Network, the Persian Gulf Holding's petrochemical capacity accounted for 40 per cent of the country's total petrochemical output in the previous calendar year.
Iran's total petrochemicals production stood at 15.1 million tons in the previous year.
Persian Gulf Holding also accounted for 29 per cent of the country's total petrochemical exports.
The Persian Gulf Holding is consisted of 15 petrochemical companies.
