Some 246,000 meters of oil and gas wells have been drilled in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21), IRNA quoted National Iranian Drilling Company's Managing Director Hamidreza Golpaygani as saying on November 19.
Since the beginning of the year, 113 wells have been drilled, he said, adding that 70 wells have been drilled in the southern fields, nine in the central fields, six in offshore fields, 26 in the South Pars field and two exploratory wells have been drilled as well.
Some 70,000 meters of the drilling operations are related to turnkey (EPD) projects, he said.
The drilling of 23 wells was completed 278 days ahead of schedule, he noted.
