Residual amounts of gas in Azerbaijani underground storages exceeds 3.3 billion cubic meters

128.5 million cubic meters of gas were extracted from the underground gas storages of Azerbaijan from the start of the season, a source from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) that has the storages on its balance told Trend on Dec.10.

There are 2 underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan, Kalmaz and Garadagh.

According to the source, 65.04 million cubic meters of gas was extracted from Garadagh gas storage, and about 63.5 million cubic meters from Kalmaz gas storage.

Currently, the residual amounts of gas in underground storages of the country amounts to about 3.32 billion cubic meters, over 1.8 billion cubic meters in Garadagh storage and about 1.51 billion cubic meters in Kalmaz storage.

According to the source, currently 6.88 million cubic meters of gas is extracted from the storages daily.

At the end of last pumping season, the volume of gas in underground storages of the country exceeded 3.43 billion cubic meters, compared to about 3.3 billion cubic meters at the end of previous season.

At the end of the extraction season, the residual amounts of gas in underground storages of the country exceeded 1.47 billion cubic meters, about 780 million cubic meters in Garadagh storage and 697.03 million cubic meters in Kalmaz storage.

The country's underground storages allow the storage of nearly 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
