Kazakh JSC invests $17 million in construction of gas utilisation facilities

KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) JSC has invested $17 million in the construction of gas utilisation facilities, the JSC said.

"Around 2.6 billion tenge ($17 million) was invested in the construction of gas utilisation facilities," the JSC said.

Construction of the second associated gas utilisation facility in EmbaMunaiGas (EMG) JSC was completed in 2013 and production bases for KazMunaiGas Exploration Production JSC service company were commissioned.

"The associated gas utilisation facility in EmbaMunaiGas JSC at the East Makat field was received by the state commission in December 2013. It was earlier reported that the construction of a facility with a designed capacity of 40 million cubic meters per year was completed in July, 2013," according to KMG EP JSC.

The construction of the second associated gas utilisation facility at the field named after S.Balgimbayev with a designed capacity of 20 million cubic meters per year was completed in October 2013 in EMG.

"The facilities will allow to stoppage of raw gas burning in accordance to the requirements of environmental legislation. A part of the raw gas will be used for the company's own needs. The remaining part of the gas will be sold on the domestic market at a subsidised price," KMG EP JSC said.

KazMunaiGas Exploration Production is among the top three oil producers in Kazakhstan. The company's production volume including shares in the following companies; JV Kazgermunai LLP, CCEL (Karazhanbasmunai JSC) and PetroKazakhstan Inc amounting to 12.4 million tons (251,000 barrels per day) in 2013.

The volume of proven and probable reserves of KazMunaiGas Exploration Production in late 2012 amounted to 204 million tons (1.5 billion barrels) around 148 million tons of which 1.1 billion barrels fell to UzenMunaiGas JSC and EmbaMunaiGas JSC.
