Some 30,100 tonnes of polyethylene was produced in Azerbaijan in January-May 2014, which is 17.4 percent less than the same period last year, according to the report of the State Statistics Committee on January-May 2014.
Furthermore, some 18.300 tonnes of propylene was produced in Azerbaijan in January-May, which is 55.2 percent more than the same period in 2013.
In 2013, the country produced 76,000 tonnes of polyethylene, which is 13.9 percent more than in 2012.
A decrease was observed in the production of basic chemical products in Azerbaijan in January-May 2014, the report said.

In January-May, the country produced 6.300 tonnes of solid polyethylene pipes, tubes and hoses, which is 39.3 percent less than in January-May 2013.
Also, some 164.5 tonnes of porous polyurethane plates and strips were produced in the country during the reported period, which is 46.9 percent less than in January-May last year.
