Baku, Azerbaijan, July 4
By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported nearly 563,620 tonnes of oil products from its own oil refineries in Jan.-June, 2014, versus 580,910 tonnes in the same period of 2013, according to a message from SOCAR.
SOCAR exported over 152,160 tonnes of petroleum products in June, compared to 85,300 tonnes in the same period of 2013.
SOCAR exported around 1.04 million tonnes of petroleum products from its own oil refineries in 2013, versus over 1.24 million tonnes in 2012.
Oil products are produced at two Baku oil refineries with a total capacity of 16 million tonnes of oil per year. Both oil refineries belong to SOCAR, which annually processes approximately seven million tonnes of oil, extracted from onshore and offshore fields with SOCAR's own funds.
The table below shows the exported oil products:
Oil products |

The volumes of gasoline production and consumption in Azerbaijan became equal in 2013, which explains why the oil exports are minimized.
