By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

Iran will save 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas by manufacturing efficient gas heaters.
Saeid Pakseresht, National Iranian Gas Company's Director for Research and Technology, said five prototypes of gas heaters with energy efficiency rating of B were manufactured.

He added that these heaters will save 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas when manufactured in large scale, Iran's Moj news agency said Sept. 28.

"Some 100,000 gas heaters of this type will be manufactured in the first phase," Pakseresht said, adding that the domestic market needs 20 million gas heaters.
"The gas heaters can be also exported to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Belarus, Tunisia, Algeria, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan," he added.

In July, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) acknowledged that international sanctions failed to stop Iran's natural gas production growth, according to PressTV channel.

"Despite repeated delays in field development and the effects of sanctions, Iran's natural gas production is expected to increase in the coming years," EIA said in a report.
It said Iran contributed some five percent to the world's dry natural gas production in 2012, the year the US and the EU toughened sanctions against the country's energy sector.

The report added that Iran's natural gas production reached 8.2 trillion cubic feet (tcf) in 2012, up three percent from 2011.

The EIA said that despite the sanctions Iran's natural gas production has kept growing in recent years.

"Iran's gross natural gas production will increase to 10.6 tcf in 2020," the EIA report said.
