Iran gas delivery to power plants ups 11%

Iran's gas deliveries to thermal power plants increased by 11 percent during 168 days of current fiscal year to 31.125 billion cubic meters.

Iran's fiscal year started on March 21.

According to the latest weekly report of Iran's Energy Ministry released Sept.10, the country's thermal power plants also consumed 1.926 billion liters of diesel (-35.6 % Y/Y) as well as 2.864 billion liters (-26.5 percent Y/Y) during the mentioned time.

In total, the country's primary energy consumption in electricity generation sector increased by 2.8 percent.

During the mentioned time, Iran power generation capacity increased by 558 MW to 73,710 MW, while the actual power generation 57,759 MW, including 47,235 MW of thermal power plans' output.

The report also says that Iran exported 4.703 billion kWh of electricity energy (-9 percent Y/Y) and imported 1.913 billion kWh (+20 percent Y/Y).

It's expected the country's total power generation capacity increases by 1,734 MW by March 20, 2016.
