The Dede Gorgud floating semi-submersible drilling rig, which is currently at the Baku Shipyard, is being tested in Azerbaijan, a source on the oil and gas market told Trend Sept. 23.
The source said that the platform is being tested in parallel to the maintenance work.
"Some maintenance work on the platform is under completion," the source said. "At present, the remaining equipment is being assembled and connected. The diesel engines, which were installed during the modernization, are being also tested. These tests are successful. The diesel engine load has not been tested yet. It will be tested in the nearest future."
Caspian Drilling Company (92.44-percent share is owned by SOCAR) is the operator of Dede Gorgud floating semisubmersible drilling rig.
