Iran domestically produces EOR equipment

Iran has become the fourth country to produce a new type of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) equipment.

Researchers at the University of Shiraz and Sharif University of Technology managed to indigenize the kind of EOR equipment that so far have been produced in the US, France, and Germany, Shirazi, CEO of the science and technology park of the city of Shiraz, Fars Province said, IRIB news agency reported November 15.

"The equipment facilitates comprehensive assessment of reserves by providing measuring parameters for stone as well as liquids and also simulating the reserve fields. After that, the system will propose methods to enhance oil recovery," he said.

Moein Nabipour, another member of the science and technology park, said the products will be exported to Persian Gulf littoral countries as well as a number of European countries.

He further pointed out that the equipment has been used at oil fields to the south of Iran, as well as in the oil industry research centers in capital Tehran and Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province.
