Iran sweet gas output up by 5%

Iran has refined 95 billion cubic meters of natural gas during seven months of current fiscal year, started on March 21.

The volume of sweet gas production increased by 5 percent during this period year-to-year, Shana quoted Abdolhossein Samari, National Iranian Gas Company's deputy managing director for operations on Nov.25.

During this period, Iran produced 1.569 million metric tons of LPG (+62%), as well as 889,000 metric tons of ethane (+4%), about 537,000 tons of sulfur (+6%) and 16.7 million metric cubic meters of gas condensate (+15%).

Iran produced about 202 bcm of enriched natural gas, including 178 bcm of sweet gas during last fiscal year.

Currently Iran's enriched and sweet gas production capacity stand at 700 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) and 550 mcm/d.

The country planned to increase gas production to 1.1 bcm/d by 2018.
