Iran's electricity consumption has increased during 10 months of the current year, reaching 164.558 billion kWh, according to the weekly report, released by Energy Ministry

Iran's electricity consumption has increased during 10 months of the current year, reaching 164.558 billion kWh, according to the weekly report, released by Energy Ministry.

The figure increased by 7.869 billion kWh.

According to the report, the electricity energy consumption per capita in the country also increased by 181 kWh during the mentioned period.

Iran generated 243.521 billion kWh of electricity in 10 months, 3 percent more than the same period.

During the mentioned time period, Iran exported 8.668 billion kWh (+4%) and imported 3.511 billion kWh (+8%).

Iran also consumed 49 billion cubic meters of natural gas (+16.8%), as well as 4.754 billion and 5.835 billion liters of diesel and mazut in the power sector.

The country's power generation capacity increased by 606 MW to 73.758 GW during 10 months of current fiscal year.

Iran has projected to increase power generation by 1.743 GW during the current year.
