SOCAR-AQS completes drilling of new well in Caspian Sea

SOCAR-AQS drilling company has completed the drilling of the new well at the West Absheron field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, a source on the country's oil and gas market told Trend March 7.
"The drilling of the well at West Absheron was carried out from the fixed offshore platform #20, and took about 25 days," said the source, adding that the well's depth is 840 meters.
The order for the work was made by Azneft Production Union.
SOCAR-AQS was established in 2007 by SOCAR and Absheron Drilling as a joint venture, providing integrated services for drilling and well servicing.
Currently, SOCAR-AQS mainly conducts drilling from the fixed platform #11 in the shallow part of the Guneshli field, as well as from the platform #1 at the Umid field.
