Six wells will be drilled from the new platform #7 of Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR at the Guneshli field, a source in SOCAR told Trend March 15.
The new platform has been recently commissioned. In general, the platform is designed for drilling 20 wells.
"Six wells are planned to be drilled from this platform by late 2016," the source said. "There will be two gas wells with an estimated depth of 2,800 meters, and four oil wells."
SOCAR carried out drilling operations in the volume of 16,850 meters in Jan.-Feb. 2016 versus 14,160 meters during the same period of 2015.
SOCAR includes such production associations as Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributes gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies, and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
