Iran cuts gas deliveries to power plants by 10%

Iran's gas deliveries to power plants decreased by 9.7 percent in 41 days of the current fiscal year, started on March 21, compared to the same period in last year.

Iran supplied power plants with 5.36 billion cubic meters during the mentioned period, the country's Energy Ministry weekly report said.

The fuel oil deliveres to power sector of Iran increased by 5.7 percent to 298 million liters, while gas oil supplement decreased by 27 percent to 84 million liters, according to the report, published on the ministry's official website on May 10.

Iran generated 25.879 billion kilowatts-hour (kWh) of electricity in 41 days of current fiscal year, of which 223 million kWh was exported. Iran's electricity exports decreased by 71 percent during this period year-to-year, while electricity imports increased by 24 percent to 610 million kWh.

Iran's power generation capacity stood at 74,277 megawatts (MW), about 182 MW more than last fiscal year.

Iran has planned to increase this volume by 3,482 MW by the end of this year.
