Iran has repaired a South Pars field platform that had been damaged last year as it was hit by a Singaporean tanker.

Masoud Ziari, CEO of the Petro Gohar Pars Company, which is the platform's contractor, said the repair operation took less than a year, SHANA news agency reported May 14.

The Singaporean tanker struck a jacket of a Phase 13 platform on the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf late March 2015. The platform personnel were unharmed.

Ziari said the repair was over early March this year, pointing out that it was a tough job since wells had been fully drilled and ready for equipment to be installed.

He had earlier estimated the damage at $250 million.

The tanker was Norway-made, but under lease by a Singaporean company.
