Iran reveals volume of gas consumption in 80 days

Iran has consumed 16 billion cubic meters of sweet gas over 80 days of the current fiscal year which began on March 21 and 13 billion cubic meters of this volume was consumed in power sector, said Nasser Ebrahimi, director of distribution at Iran's National Gas Company.

Iran consumed 14.63 billion cubic meters of sweet gas in 80 days of the last fiscal year, he told Shana June 7.

During last days, some 240 million cubic meters of gas has been delivered to power plants per day, or about 40 million cubic meters per day more than the same period in last year.

Iran has delivered 10.379 billion cubic meters of gas to power plants in 69 days of the current fiscal year (or 150.5 million cubic meters per day), or about 6.5 percent less than in the same period in last year, according to the latest weekly statistics of Iran's Energy Ministry.

He said that power plants were provided with 58 billion cubic meters of gas during the last fiscal year and the figure is expected to reach 65 billion cubic meters in current year.
