By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR produced 4.22 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from the country’s offshore and onshore fields using its own funds in January-August 2016 compared to 5.54 bcm in the same period of 2015, said SOCAR in a message posted on its website Sept. 23.

In addition to its own production, SOCAR also gets gas from Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (associated gas) fields by developing these fields in cooperation with foreign partners.

The total volume of gas produced from those fields and independently developed ones was 19.98 bcm in January-August 2016 versus 18.99 bcm in January-August 2015.

SOCAR includes such production associations as Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributes gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies, and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
