Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR exported 792,960 tons of oil products in January-September 2016, as compared to 885,760 tons in the same period of 2015, said the message from SOCAR.
The company exported 1.23 million tons of oil products in 2015, as compared to 1.2 million tons in 2014.
Earlier, oil products in Azerbaijan were produced at two refineries in Baku. Both of these refineries were included in SOCAR, which annually processes around seven million tons of oil produced at onshore and offshore fields with its own funds.
SOCAR announced the liquidation of Azneftyag oil refinery and its merger with the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery in December 2014.
The major part of Azerbaijani oil products is exported to Georgia.
