Azerbaijan’s SOCAR-AQS LLC has started drilling a new well at the country’s offshore oil and gas field Gunashli in the shallow water part of the Caspian Sea, the company told Trend Oct. 4.
“The well #317 will be drilled from the new offshore platform #7 at the Gunashli field,” the company said. “The projected depth of the well is 2,850 meters.”
Azneft production association of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is the customer.
The Gunashli field plays an important role in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry. Its shallow part is developed by SOCAR independently, while its deep part is developed as part of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block with foreign partners.
