Trend:

Positions of the vast majority of oil producing countries coincide on the issue of oil production freeze, RIA Novosti reported citing Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president.

Peskov added that Russia hopes for the future consultations to help reach consensus.

“The work in this direction is underway. Positions of the vast majority of countries coincide to a large extent. In this case, we undoubtedly hope for a consensus in this sphere,” Peskov said.

In September, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries agreed to reduce OPEC oil production to 32.50-33 million barrels per day. However, there are no agreements on concrete limitations for each member country of the organization.

Final decision concerning cut of oil production has not yet been adopted. It was decided to proceed with the consultations of the experts.
