SOCAR oil export from Turkey’s Ceyhan down

The Marketing and Operations Department of Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) exported 13.99 million tons of oil from Turkish port of Ceyhan in January-October 2016 as compared to 14.55 million tons in the same period of 2015, SOCAR said in a message Nov. 1.

In October 2016, some 1.67 million tons of oil were exported from the Ceyhan port as compared to 1.44 million tons in the same period of 2015.

In total, SOCAR exported 17.93 million tons of oil from Ceyhan in 2015 as compared to 20.48 million tons in 2014.

Oil is delivered to Ceyhan via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline.

The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey.

The pipeline’s construction started in 2003. It was filled with oil in 2005.
