Itochu keen to expand co-op with SOCAR

Japan’s Itochu Corporation is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, Masahiro Imai, a member of the board at Itochu, said.
Imai made the remarks at a meeting with SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev in Baku Dec. 8.
During the meeting, Imai expressed satisfaction with implementation of projects in which Itochu is involved, SOCAR said in a message Dec. 8.
In his turn, Abdullayev expressed confidence that joint projects will be successfully continued.
There are prospects for intensifying cooperation with Japanese companies, he added.
Imai and Abdullayev also exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest, the message said.
Itochu is involved in the development of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of fields (4.3 percent) and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline (3.4 percent) in Azerbaijan.
